Paris boutique hotels we love, by Yonder
In its article "Paris boutique hotels we love", Yonder presents La Maison Favart :
The pitch? Does the name of this Paris boutique hotel ring a bell? It's the name of the founder of the Opéra Comique, Charles-Simone Favart, who lived here with his wife, dancer and actress Justine du Ronceray. The Grands Boulevards are just a stone's throw away, and the view opens naturally onto the famous theater. The lobby immediately gives an impression of intimacy: panelling, cosy furniture, upholstered armchairs, old-fashioned portraits in gilded frames, and a fireplace corner that assumes its modernity.
The rooms? Each of the 39 rooms - the classics are the smallest - has its own universe, like so many boudoirs: toile de Jouy, velvets and silks, palettes of red and pink, bold stripes and drapes softened by the brown of a sofa, the caning of a seat. The mixes are undeniably daring for successful juxtapositions; each décor is theatrical, of course, but conforms to the requirements of a 4-star hotel: Iphone station, television offering a veritable film library, attractive courtesy tray.
Gastronomy? No restaurant, but a breakfast room that's like a sour candy: the style is baroque, the buffet particularly well-stocked with a wide choice of viennoiseries, salmon as well as charcuterie, dairy products and cheese. You can also have them served in your room, and the tray will be just as gourmet.
Wellness? A small swimming pool reflected in the mirrors, subdued lighting, a waterfall and water jets, a sauna and this water bed: the charming space dedicated to relaxation does not exclude state-of-the-art equipment in the fitness room. With free access, it can also be privatized for an hour: ideal for a romantic getaway.
